- Description: This fossil is of the highest quality and has been carefully prepared and embedded in the original sediment from the world-famous source in Holzmaden. The specimen shows exceptional preservation, especially in the area of the head, vertebrae and bone plates. Although there are restorations on the front left and rear right extremities, this does not detract from the overall importance and rarity of this fossil. Crocodiles of this size are extremely rare, making this specimen a truly remarkable find.
- Other information: Steneosaurus is an extinct genus of crocodile-like reptiles from the family Teleosauridae in the group Thalattosuchia. Fossils were originally found in western Europe, including in Holzmaden and Morocco, and were divided into numerous species, most of which are now considered invalid or belong to other genera. All that remains in the genus Steneosuchus is a fragment of the snout from Calvados in France, which belongs to the type species Steneosaurus rostromajor. This was first scientifically described in 1825 by the French zoologist Étienne Geoffroy Saint-Hilaire.
