- Description: 228 to 220 million year old sandstone block from the Chinle Formation. Absolutely rare size showing the natural beige and earthy orange color accumulation of sandstone sized grains. This natural painting is ideal for wall mounting. Additional Information: Kanab Wonderstone - scenic sandstone, from near Kanab, Kane County, southern Utah. The lines in this sandstone, described as "nature's most beautiful painting," are composed of various concentrations of iron oxides. Due to their abundance, diverse textures and mineralogy, sandstones are important indicators of erosive and sedimentary processes. Today, such pieces are not found, making this piece truly unique.
